Former Coventry City midfielder Martin Jol has been appointed the new head coach of Dutch giants Ajax.
Jol took SV Hamburg to the UEFA Cup Semi-Final but has returned to his native Holland to sign a three year deal with the Amsterdam based club.
He had been linked with the Sunderland job and said to the BBC: "Ajax have given me a great chance, with long-term perspective. "I get a wide array of responsibilities and I very much want to get started.
"I am delighted to come home after several years abroad."
