Coventry City's in form striker Lukas Jutkiewicz is keen to be selected for a start on Saturday as his side chase an elusive away victory to add to their home win last week.
Jutkiewicz came on a a substitute and scored City's second goal, but was unlucky not to have score a ha trick with two goals ruled out,one for a foul on the goal keeper and one for off side. Replays showed both decisions were dubious, even Watford 'keeper Loach admitted he was lucky to have got away with his error.
Coventry make the short trip to struggling Derby on Saturday and a win would put more desperately needed distance between them and the other relegation threatened teams.
Jutkiewicz, who has often flattered to deceive since his move from Everton to Coventry, is arguably currently having his best spell of form and is the clubs' equal top goal scorer with seven goals.
He said to the CT: "It is really important to build on the Watford result and performance and it would be really nice to get a win away from home because we have not had one since Scunthorpe, so we need to get a bit of momentum."
After Saturdays away game at Derby, Coventry travel south to Portsmouth on Tuesday and then have a home game the following Saturday when they entertain Millwall.
Jutkiewicz continued: "We have got this week to prepare for three games in a week and they could be really important to our season. We have got a ten point cushion, which is better than seven but still not something we are particularly pleased with."
"We want to be pushing up the table because we all feel that we are better than the position we are in."
Last Saturday's 2-0 win came as a huge confidence boost for the team and has lifted the mood in the camp.
"The lads are really upbeat and you can sense the change of feeling in the dressing room afterwards," he said. "There is nothing like coming in after a good performance and win and I think we can keep that going."
"We were really disappointed after the Preston game because we put on a really good performance against Burnley a few days before and we didn't really want the international break because we wanted to get a game straight away."
"We were training really well and everyone was itching to get a game and show that we are all hungry and I think the performance showed that. I thought the lads got the ball down really well and passed it and the fans responded to that because they wanted to be entertained."
Jutkiewicz has been frustrated with the stop start selection that has seen him start nine games only to be dropped in favour of Marlon King when he returned to action following his four game ban, but he is hoping his goal and two disallowed goals will be enough to secure him a staring place o Saturday.
"I was obviously disappointed to be left out because every player wants to start but you have to respond to that in the right way and I just wanted to make an impact when I went on and thankfully I did that."
Jutkiewicz wasted no time in extending City's lead, scoring after just one minute of coming on as Freddy Eastwood's replacement. he went on to tear Watford's defence to shreds with one of his most inspired performance in a Sky Blue shirt. He had the ball in the net three time in 25 minutes, but unfortunately for him only the one counted.
"It was great to score with what was only my second touch of the ball after going on," he said. "Aron Gunnarsson played me in with a really good ball and as the keeper came out I just tried to lift it over him and it was nice to see it go in, but I was really disappointed with the second one because even their goalkeeper said to me after the game that he had got away with murder because he had dropped it and didn't think I had done anything wrong."
"I was also disappointed with the linesman for the off side, although it might have been so I am not going to really grumble about that one. I hit the bar and maybe I hit it too sweet, so maybe it would have been nice to miss-hit it so it trickled in, but, overall, I was pleased with the performance."
