The Keep Cov In Coventry campaign group are launching a campaign ‘Without Fans there is no Football’.
This campaign wants the Department of Culture, Media and Sport to use Coventry City as a case study as part of its work around football governance.
Michael Orton, organiser of KCIC said to the Coventry Telegraph's Simon Gilbert: “We want the Department for Culture, Media and Sport to follow up the excellent work it has done in relation to the issues around football governance by looking at the issues faced by Coventry City.
“The select committee is a great route to go because it has already done work in relation to football governance. It can also be very intense in its questioning.
“The petition can stay open for 12 months. Getting to the needed 100,000 signatures is a huge ask but, looking at what we achieved at Arsenal, I think it is possible.
“If we can get more than 100,000 signatures it certainly puts a lot more pressure on politicians to look at it.
“I hope not a single City fan would object to the petition and I hope the vast majority would sign up to it – it is the best chance we have got.”
