Sky Blue legend John Sillett has come out in support of the old badge. He told the CET: "I think the existing badge is terrific and it has held the Sky Blues in good stead through some of the proudest moments in the club's history.
"I was very disappointed when I saw what they have proposed and I would be very sorry to see it go.
"The club talk about entering a new era at a new stadium but I think they should take a bit of the old Coventry City with them.
"After all, it is an old City with a history of which to be proud. "They have to remember it was the fans and people of Coventry who helped get the new stadium when the council were deciding whether to give it the go-ahead, so now the club have got to listen to those people and repay them for what they have done for the club.
"Coventry City owe the fans and the City of Coventry to keep that badge. "They have got to listen to the fans because they are the shoppers who buy their goods, and if they think the badge looks cheap and nasty then they won't want to wear it.
"I say let's keep the current badge and get the phoenix rising from the ashes again because the club certainly needs it."
Covsupport advises anyone who feels that the club have breached their customer charter regarding the launching of the new badge to complain to the Football League and Independent Football Commission.
