Micky Adams was forced to field a side without a keeper on the bench after on loan from Manchester United's Luke Steele had talks with West Brom as part of a deal that will send the current Baggies number one Tomasz Kuszczak to Old Trafford.
Steele joined City on a season long loan on Friday and was on the bench for City's win against Sunderland on Sunday.
If the move does go through, Micky Adams will either take a City side to Cardiff City on Saturday without a substitute keeper or bring in youngster Cameron Belford who had a fine game for the Reserves at Rugby on Tuesday night.
