Coventry City have confirmed the signing of Rafael Gonzalez on a deal until the end of January. Clearance from the FA is still awaited for the 35 year old who has played for Malaga and made two appearances for Real Oviedo.
Keeper Signed But Not Cleared
Gonzalez played against Wolves in a reserve team friendly last week and is expected to be named in a reserve side to play at Nottingham Forest this morning.
The keeper who will provide back up for Andy Marshall told the club website: "I am very happy to be here. "I have always been a big fan of English football and I am aware that Coventry City is a very big club. "The stadium is amazing and I know I'm not going to go straight into the team but it would be a dream to play here."
Micky Adams added: "Rafa has been training with us for some time now and he has shown plenty of good attributes. "He played for our reserves in a friendly with Wolves and looked extremely competent and he will give us options in goal.
"Obviously it is not ideal having only one keeper on your books but Andy has done superbly for us so far this season. Rafa will be with us until January and he gives us valuable cover in a key area."
