Keogh Backing Thorn

Coventry City stand in captain Richard Keogh has backed manager Andy Thorn.

Speaking to the CT, Keogh said::“Everybody looking in knows our situation and can’t help feeling for the manager because he’s had his hands tied, his feet tied – everything tied really.

“There’s always going to be somebody out there trying to make a name for themselves by spreading rumours; people can always put something on Twitter and even though it’s not true it spreads like wildfire.

"But at the end of the day we know what we’re about as a dressing room – the team and the management staff.

“We can’t go on about what’s going on above our heads – all we can affect is the games – and the manager’s been first-class like that. It’s his first job but I’m sure he’s learned as much in a short space of time as most managers learn in years.

“For whatever reason it’s not dropping for us. In all the time I’ve been in football I’ve not been involved in something like this but it is what it is – there’s still a lot of points to play for and we’ve just got to keep working hard.

“The Bristol game is massive because if we win we’re only a few points behind them.

"And I’m sure we can win if we play like we did at Peterborough on Saturday and take our chances this time. If we’d have walked off that pitch with five goals I don’t think they could have complained.”
