Coventry City's player of the year Richard Keogh has left the club and moved to Derby County.
Keogh had been offered a deal to keep him at Coventry, but he wants to play at the highest level possible. With a year left on his contract, the club have agreed to cash in on the player rather than risk losing him for nothing next year.
No details of the deal have been made public other than the usual undisclosed fee. The deal does not include the season long loan deal to bring striker Callum Ball to the Ricoh, this is a separate deal.
Coventry's development director Steve Waggott told the club website, "Richard goes to Derby with the best wishes from everyone at Coventry.........We believe this deal with Derby is the right one for Coventry City."
