Following the long, protracted negotiations which finally led to Marlon King signing for Coventry City last week, the controversial striker made his club debut when he came on as a second half substitute against Preston at the weekend.
The City faithful gave a cheer when it was announced that King was in the squad to face Preston and when the player came on as substitute in the second half, it was to very warm applause, something King was grateful for.
In a short statement, King told The Sun, "It's been a relief for me to make my debut, but obviously the result was disappointing. It was a great response from the fans when I came on and I just want to thank the club for giving me an opportunity."
