Mike McGinnity's attempts to get Chris Kirkland wearing a City shirt once more have been rubbished by the former City keeper. Kirkland said:"I have to say that kind of talk is complete nonsense. Since I was eight-years-old, all I've ever wanted to do is play for Liverpool Football Club. My dad has a photograph of me in his wallet when I was a young lad, wearing my Liverpool kit. I haven't come this far to just give up. "The gaffer has told all of us we'll all be given an opportunity and then it will up to ourselves. I'm confident when I'm fully fit I'll get a few games and then it's up to me to take my chance. But there's no question of me thinking of moving. "The gaffer has told everyone they've got to fight for their place. I'm just going to knuckle down and try and impress him."
City's performances at Nottingham Forest and against West Ham have earned the Sky Blues the League Managers Association "Performance Of The Week" award. The award will be presented on Sky Sports Soccer Am tomorrow
