Speaking to the Journal Live, the striker who is on loan to Hartlepool United and is prone to media outbursts which have not helped his cause said: "As a professional footballer your job is to play.
"Over the last few years it has been difficult - this season especially as there is no chance on earth I'm going to get a shot at Coventry, because of the circumstances in my contract (if he plays three more Sky Blues games they will owe Sunderland £100,000), although the manager and chairman may say different.
"There is not a great feeling between the club and myself. "I'm happy to be as far away from there as possible and be here at Hartlepool and playing week in, week out, hopefully playing fairly well and getting a few goals."
