Plymouth Argyle's bid to sign Coventry City striker Kevin Kyle could fail as the Pilgrims will not match the wages the striker is on at the Ricoh Arena.
The striker is reported to be the top wage earner at the club and England's most southern Football League club have been run frugally for years and have a policy of not paying big money wages.
This means that Kyle, would need to take what has been described by some websites as a significant wage cut to join Plymouth or see if Burnley and Crystal Palace, who have also been linked, would get near his current income.
The alternative is that the Scot, who netted against Nuneaton last night, could stay at City until is contract expires.
