Latest SCG meeting notes I

Last night saw the latest meeting between the Supporters Consultative Group (SCG) and representatives from the club at the Ricoh offices starting at the later hour of 6pm.

This meeting had a bit of an end of season feel to it, with no real burning issues being raised but a summary of the points covered were as follows:

At the suggestion of the SCG the match day ticket increase now takes effect 3 hours before kick off, allowing supporters to purchase their tickets on the morning of the match at the more favourable prices.

The group also discussed the early bird season ticket deadline with comments from the table that there were some season ticket holders who felt that the deadline of May 7th was too early for them to decide, and that this was for a variety of reasons, one being that in past years the club had extended this deadline anyway.

Ken Sharp confirmed that at this stage there were no intentions to extend this deadline, but stressed that there are easy payment options available, so the cost could be spread over a maximum of 10 months. This would mean that the cheapest ticket would amount to £29 per month.

For PSL holders who choose to change their view for new season, their seat will be moved free of charge, and it was re-iterated that the cut off date for renewing existing season tickets and retaining the same seat is June 2nd, after which any that have been relinquished will be available to all.

The club did issue Flexi-card flyers to those that bought match day tickets at the cash turnstiles, and it is hoped that more people realise the benefits of holding one of these cards, not the least a £2 saving on the match day ticket price.

The club are working on a new website and format, and when this has been fully completed it is hoped that it will include additional features such as long distance supporter stories, as well as new wall papers and screensavers being available.

In response to a question posed the previous month about how parts of the stadium complex were already showing signs of wear, Ken Sharp advised that there are a considerable number of defects that are still to be resolved at the Arena.

A discussion then followed about the history display in the Legends suite and that those who had been able to see this had all commented very favourably on the content and informative nature of the exhibits. Lionel Bird, who along with club historian Jim Brown have both put this together giving up considerable time, advised that the Arena tours now concluded at the suite so that the visitors could see the display.

A suggestion was put to the club that this should be more available to supporters to see, and it is hoped that at the new home kit launch in the summer that supporters will be able to enter the suite to view the display.
