Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd will decide in the next 24 hours whether he will offer French Striker Francis Laurent a contract.
The 24 year old, 6'3" striker was released from his contract by financially troubled Southend United last Friday in a bid the relieve the wage burden on the club.
He will be available on a free transfer, but Boothroyd want to have another day to have another close look at him before coming to a decision.
Boothroyd explained, “I am still running my eye over him and will make my decision tomorrow, but I am hoping to do something.”
If he is offered a contract and signs for Coventry City, he is expected to go straight into the squad for Saturday's game.
Laurent is well behind the rest of the squad with his training which may be why Boothroyd is having another look.
Boothroyd said,“The one thing people will get to know about me is that I like to take calculated risks, particularly if I think a player can help us win games.”
