Ireland took on Portugal and Leahy played the whole game which was decided in the 66th mnute by a stunning individual goal from Birmingham City's Ronan Hale with the Irish down to ten men after McKenna was sent off for a second bookable offence.
Leahy, who is back playing for City U23's after a loan spell at Nuneaton Town, had already played for Ireland in Friday' 2-1 defeat to Norway and is expected to be involved in Tuesday's game against Slovakia.
