Coventry City goalkeeper Joe Murphy has been singing the praises of former City player, Academy Coach, U21's manager and first team caretaker manager Lee Carsley.
Speaking about Lee Carsley who is assistant to David Weir at Sheffield United who face the Sky Blues in Sunday's televised game, the City keeper who has displayed some fine form this season, told the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner: “There’s a bit of pressure on the manager but it’s a massive club who have been there or thereabouts over the last few years in the play-offs.
“They’ve struggled a bit which is a surprise because they’ve got a good squad, big budget with a new owner who has come in.
“Lee Carsley is a great bloke and he’s in there as well, so I hope they turn it around after Sunday.”
Lee Carsley has plenty of knowledge on the City team from last season and has even watched the Sky Blues against Bristol City this season and Murphy warned that this could help a United side which has yet to win away this season. .
“He’s worked with all of us so I am sure his inside knowledge will help,” Murphy said.
“But our home form has been good aside from the Brentford game, and we need to bounce back there.
“They are under a bit of pressure but we have to deal with that and hopefully mount even more pressure on them.”
