Sky Sports are reporting that fellow Championship side Leeds United has made an enquiry as to the availability of new Coventry City captain Sammy Clingan.
Like Coventry City, Leeds have lost some of their players and are keen to bolster their midfield. Neil Kilkenny and Bradley Johnson have both left Leeds with only Michael Brown being brought in as a replacement.
Andy Thorn appointed Clingan as the new club captain to replace Lee carsley, who was not offered an extension to his Coventry City contract.
Clingan has one year left on his City contract and it is possible, in the wake of the loss of King, Westwood and Gunnarsson on free transfers that the Coventry City board might over rule Thorn and sell Clingan to raise much needed cash rather than gambling on losing the player for free in a year's time.
Leeds' assistant manager Glynn Snodin was assistant manager to Northern Ireland boss Nigel Worthington in 2007 and so is fully aware of Clingan's ability.
