Leeds United manager Simon Grayson is poised to make a deadline day bid for Coventry City captain Sammy Clingan.
Leeds made an enquiry about the Northern Ireland midfielder during the summer break but were told he was not for sale by Coventry City, but are now back again to try to tempt the club to sell now rather than risk losing him for nothing at the end of the season when his contract expires.
The 27 year old joined Coventry from Norwich in 2009 for an undisclosed fee on a three year contract and was made club captain by Andy Thorn during the summer pre-season training this year. Thorn said at the time that Clingan was an important part of his plans for the coming season.
