The Yorkshire Evening Post has revealed that Leeds United had 'tenative talks' about trying to sign Keiren Westwood.
The Republic Of Ireland international whose contract at Coventry City expires next week is however, expected to sign for Sunderland.
The club managed by Steve Bruce and former Coventry manager Eric Black, if rumours are to be believed, have offered Westwood what seems an excellent deal of regular Premier League football, which Westwood has always wanted to keep him in the international squad and something the Sky Blues, Leeds, Leicester and others could not offer him. Plus, a four year deal and rumours of £25k a week and £5k appearance fee.
