LEGENDS DAY 2008
Coventry City's game on Saturday with Sheffield Wednesday at the Ricoh Arena has been officially designated as Legends Day. Every season one game will be designated to celebrate the Club's former players in an occasion organised jointly by the Football Club and the Former Players Association.
On Saturday over 50 City Stars of yesteryear will be the guests of the football club. They will be treated to a three-course lunch, see the game and be paraded on the pitch at half-time. Some of the former players will also be in the club shop and Jimmy's Bar between 2pm and 3pm to sign autographs and mingle with the fans.
The event which has been an unprecedented sell-out in the corporate lounges will see a number of the most popular players in the club's history back at the club including Mo Konjic, Tommy Hutchison, Ian Wallace, David Speedie and Cyrille Regis
.
The big parade will take place at half-time and fans are encouraged to remain in their seats to give their former heroes a big round of applause.
From two o'clock Regis and Speedie will be joined by Alan Green, Billy Rafferty, Colin Stein and Dave Bennett in the club shop. At the same time Wallace and Hutch will be in Jimmy's Bar with Ernie Hunt, Dietmar Bruck, John Williams, Ally Pickering and Steve Morgan. Big Mo and Willie Carr will be mixing with corporate customers in the Jaguar Club.
