We are counting down to Legends Day 2015 on Saturday March 21st 2015  when stars of the past will be coming to the Ricoh Arena from all over Britain (and further afield) to join Sky Blue supporters at the Doncaster Rovers home game at the Ricoh. Arrangements are coming together for anothe Legends Day extravaganza!

The Day is sure to be a special one for three reasons:-

First, we are hosting our major former player reunion of the year once more after a year’s break for CCFC’s exile at Sixfields

Second, the Day will also be celebrating the belated 50th anniversary of the 1963-64 Division 3 Championship squad under the leadership of CCFPA member and Sky Blue icon Jimmy Hill and should have a good sprinkling of these veterans of the early days of the ‘Sky Blue Revolution’ including family members of those FPs who are no longer with us.

Third, CCFC are also asking as many fans as possible to celebrate this ‘Retro Day’ by wearing one of the many variations of favourite club shirts of the past. The Football Club have announced the price of hospitality packages to share the day with our returning stars of the past at lunch in the E.ON Lounge and watching the Sky Blues strive to win against the Rovers. For further details of the £59 package (discounts available for concessions/season ticket holders) or to book, please call CCFC on 02476 992 329 or email hospitality@ccfc.co.uk.

We are planning the traditional pitchside welcome for our ‘Legends’, former players spanning over five decades of the Club’s playing prowess, who we also hope will be ‘on stage’ at Lady Gs at the Ricoh after the game when our friends at G-Casino are hosting a buffet reception for them.

We are well over 60% of the way to our target of around fifty participants. The latest news of those confirmed to attend (in alphabetical order) are:-  Roy Barry, Claus Bech Jorgensen, Dave Bennett, Ken Brown, Dietmar Bruck, Dave Busst, Willie Carr, George Curtis, Peter Denton, Dean Emerson, Ron Farmer, Ian Goodwin, Micky Gynn, Colin Holder, Ernie Hunt, Lee Hurst, Steve Morgan, Graham Newton, Brian Nicholas, Trevor Peake, Brian Roberts, Ken Satchwell, Gordon Simms, Kirk Stephens, Bill Tedds, John Tudor (flying over from the States to be with us), Graham Walker, John Williams, Ian Wallace, Jimmy Whitehouse, Peter Wyer and Quintin Young, , of course we expect ‘Oggie’ to be around and about the match-day squad preparing for the game. These Bantams and Sky Blue stalwarts will be entertained to lunch before the game and introduced to the crowd on the pitch before the vitally important match for the Sky Blues begins.

We are still  waiting to hear from many others who we have high hopes of tempting to join us including  a mystery surprise guest or two!
