Former Coventry City striker Leon Best has been loaned to Brighton & Hove Albion.
Best had returned to Blackburn Rovers after his loan at Derby County ended and the striker has teamed up with Chris Hughton, whom the former Republic Of Ireland international played for at Newcastle United.
Best told seagulls.co.uk, “As soon as Chris came here I thought that was interesting and obviously I wasn’t playing much at Derby. I then got a call from my agent on the Sunday and then the manager Gary Bowyer called me and said there was a possibility of joining Brighton.
“He’s [Chris] a really good, genuine and honest man. He lets you go and play football and I’d play for him any time I could.
“He lets you enjoy the game, and, if you enjoy the game, then you’re going to play well for the team and that’s what he tries to bring out in all his players.”
