Coventry City have announced that they have taken Leon Clarke on trial.
The Wolverhampton born forward has played for a string of clubs after starting out with Wolves as a trainee in July 2003. Clarke has played for Kidderminster, QPR X2, Plymouth, Sheffield Wednesday, Oldham, Southend, Preston and Swindon before signing for Charlton Athletic nearly a year ago. Whilst at the South East London based club, he was loaned to Crawley Town and Scunthorpe United.
City have brought the striker who scored against City for Scunthorpe earlier this season, in with a view to a permanent move and he could well turn out to be the club's replacement for David McGoldrick if he decides that his footballing future is not at Coventry City who are trying to take him permanently from Nottingham Forest.
