Leyton Orient And Southend Through To JPT Area Final

Leyton Orient and Southend United are through to the Johnstones Paint Trophy Southern Area Final.

At Brisbane Road, the O's had Griffith sent off in the 75th minute but were not hampered by the numerical disadvantage and in the 90th minute, Mooney scored to give Orient a 1-0 win over Yeovil Town.

In the other semi-final, Southend United needed penalties to win at Oxford United.

Corr gave Southend a six minute lead but it was Oxford who led at the break thanks to goals from Marsh (14) and Craddock (31). 

In the second half, Southend came back with two goals in five minutes through Clohessey and Corr again but in the 89th minute, Rigg scored to send the tie to penalties, which Southend won 5-3.
