The currently appointed referee for Coventry City’s League One game against Scunthorpe United is James Linington.
Hailing from the Isle Of Wight, Mr Linington took up refereeing after realising that he was not strong enough to play in adult football at the age of 15 at the standard he wanted to. Mr Linington was appointed to the Select Group of Assistant Referees in 2006 and two years later he joined the National Group of Referees.
His last City game was the 3-1 defeat at Gillingham on January 17th 2015. Other previous games he has bene in charge of are the 2-2 draw with Crawley on January 12th 2014. Previous City games he has been in charge of are, the 1-0 defeat to Millwall in April 2012, the 0-0 home draw with Reading in April 2011, the 2-1 home defeat to Cardiff City in October 2010 and the 3-2 win over Peterborough in December 2009.
