Linnington In Charge For Final Home Game

The currently appointed referee for Coventry City's Championship game against Reading on Saturday is James Linnington from Newport on the Isle Of Wight.

Mr Linnington took up refereeing to stay involved in football with the intention to return to playing when he  became stronger after he was released by a club at the age of fifteen.  He set himself a target of becoming a career referee and in 2008 was appointed to the National List.

This season, he has had 35 matches including Coventry 2-1 home defeat to Cardiff City, a game where the Sky Blues crtainly did not get the decisions, and has shown 105 yellow cards and six red.

His only other City game was the 3-2 home win against Peterborough last season

His assistants are Richard Kendall from Bedfordshire & Ryan Newman from Yorkshire.  The Fourth Official is Mark Weaver from Birmingham.
