Nuneaton based referee Stuart Attwell was forced to abandon the UEFA U19 European Championship game between Spain and Belgium.
Spain were leading the game with a 12th minute goal when, eight minutes later, lightening started to hit the next pitch and the roof of the small main stand of the ground in Mogosoaia, Romania.
It was that bad that the players did not come back out and Mr Attwell decided to abandon the game which will now be played tomorrow at 5pm Uk time.
