Coventry City Assistant Manager Neil MacFarlane has praised City's players from not shying away from the work ethic
“It’s the change in culture that the manager, myself, Steve Waggott and all the staff have tried to put in place,” said MacFarlane to the Coventry Teelgraph's Andy Turner.
“The boys have really bought in to what the manager is asking of them every single day in training and every time they cross the white line, so that’s the most pleasing thing.
“When we came in we had a definite structure and plan of what we wanted to do, and that was one of the first things. There have been a lot of ups and downs through the season but never once have they shied away from that work ethic, and that’s really pleasing.
"They just keep going to the end, as they did on Sunday against Port Vale, and striving to get better every day.
“Also, the way they have performed, especially in the early part of the season. The way the boys reacted at Crawley to the news that the club had been hit with another ten points and the way they clawed those back.
“It was a blow when it came on the opening day, and people probably saw that in the first half of the game.
“But from the second half onwards, for a long period the boys have been absolutely magnificent and given the club something back in the way they have performed; their attitude and style of play.
"It has been a pleasure to watch and over the last year hopefully everyone can see what the manager has done here and how much he’s improved the team.”
