Aron Gunnarsson has said that speaking to new Cardiff City boss Malky MacKay helped him decide to sign for the South Wales side.
Speaking to Wales On-Line, Gunnarsson, who was out of contract at Coventry City, who has now joined up with his new team-mates for pre-season matches in Southern Spain, said:“I had to get back and collect clean clothes.
“I got back at 1am, had a couple of hours sleep and was up at 3.30am to join the squad for the trip to Spain.
“I’m really happy to be with Cardiff. I spoke to the gaffer a few times and he seemed keen to sign me.
“He talked about watching me play and those talks helped me make my decision. I can’t wait to get started.”
City and Cardiff have, it is understood, already agreed the level of compensation which is payable due to Gunnarsson being under twenty four years old.
