Coventry City CEO Steve Waggot has said that the deal to sign Gary Madine is out of his hands.
Speaking to the Coventry Observer's Steve Carpenter, Mr Waggott who said that are complications with the deal Madine is on at Sheffield Wednesday such as payments being required for him to be released from his contract and appearance fee payments, said about the deal to sign Madine from Sheffield Wednesday: "We have expressed an interest to sign Gary and I am talking to Sheffield Wednesday's chief executive Paul Aldridge on the phone everyday asking for an update.
"Sheffield Wednesday have lots of strikers already and we know that Gary has enjoyed playing for us.
"He wants to play at the highest possible level and I think for Gary that is the Championship but he wants to stay here.
"Sheffield Wednesday have to resolve his current contract at the club because it is causing problems.
"Could we strike a deal? Hopefully, but at the moment there are four or five days to go and discussion are on-going so watch this space."
