City had been linked with a £300,000 bid for the 19 year old over the weekend but Miller said to the Evening Express: "We've offered Chris an extension to his current deal as he's out of contract next summer.
"I read about Coventry's interest, but I haven't heard anything official about it.
"I would like to think Chris will accept the contract offer and we'll hear back from him when he returns for pre-season training in a few weeks.
"There's no way we want to sell him, and if Coventry are seriously interested then they would need to add a few zeros on to the figure that's been quoted."
