Malta's national team coach John Buttigieg has said the former Coventry City striker Michael Mifsud needs to find a new club as soon as possible if he is to Maritain his place in the Malta squad.
Mifsud has been without a club since hi contract with the Sky Blues expired in the sumer of 2009. Mifsud has continued to claim he has had many offers in the past few months and tat he expects to be signing for a new club soon, but he has yet to agree terms with any club.
Mifsud has been a regular in the Malta national team even though he is not playing regular football, Buttigieg told the Times of Malta."I am seriously worried about Michael's situation. He is a vital player for us and it's not a good thing that he is not playing at club level."We've been helping Michael Mifsud since the start of the season.
"I'm still willing to give him my support but I hope he finds a club sooner rather than later. Although his physical condition is good, Mifsud badly lacks match practise and this is essential to play international matches."
