Coventry City interim manager Mark Venus has as expected played his interview with a straight bat, giving responses that were expected.
Speaking on BBC Coventry & Warwickshire, Venus denied that he or his wife as directors of Dedham Vale Homes Ltd would profit from the sale of Ryton and said that he represented CCFC at the meeting with Ryton Parish Council and 99% of his time was with the football club and the budget is more than enough to allow the team to be competitive.
With regard to his role with Otium Entertainment Ltd and whether it was a conflict of interest, he said: "I work for the club, supporters, players and staff.
"I want to work hand in hand with them to make the best and that’s where all my attentions go to."
Venus added that there was nothing concrete on the future of the Academy and appealed for those who could help to get in touch and sid that he would like to be the man to take City up the league and if everything went ok, he hopes to continue the job after January.
He also said that he was working for the guys who have been there for 50 years and are disillusioned and that he liked the football club and loved the supporters, adding: "I would like all the supporters to come watch their football club and I have to give them something off the pitch to give them something to take their minds off it. "I’m not going to go it overnight. "I can’t buy success, I’m just going to work hard."
Venus also said that "it’s revenue - More revenue to get back to the business model that the owner wants.
"They’re a big club that needs as much money invested in the team.
"He wants every fan to watch the team, but he realises they need a team that gets them in the seats and celebrating.
"He admits his ambition is to see the stadium full of blue and white scarves."
