Former Coventry City striker Marlon King has failed in his appeal to get freed from jail early.
King is serving an eighteen month sentence for dangerous driving and had appealed but according to the Coventry Telegraph Mr Justice Lindblom, sitting with Lord Justice Aikens and Mr Hickinbottom, said: “The inconvenience and delay King’s family have experienced in their move to Zambia could not and cannot justify and support a decision to undo or adjust the sentence imposed
"We cannot regard a sentence of 18 months’ imprisonment as arguably too long. It was and remains a just sentence which fully reflected the culpability and the effect it has had on those who were victims of it.
“This was, in truth, deliberate dangerous driving. It could easily have resulted in far more serious injuries.
“In these circumstances, notwithstanding the submissions presented to us, we reject this renewed application for leave to appeal against sentence.”
