As a 21-year-old lad who has only seen Coventry City being put through the wringer and enduring some dreadfully dark times, I never expected to watch my team at Wembley. However, Monday will see the Sky Blue Army united under the famous arch for the second time in as many years, but it means a lot more on this occasion.
Whilst winning the Checkatrade Trophy was great fun and seeing 43,000 City fans enjoying the moment together sent shivers down the spine, promotion would arrest our slide down the footballing pyramid. As we are used to being embroiled in relegation scraps, it still feels odd that we are potentially 90 minutes or so away from going up for the first time since 1967. I still feel as if it’s vital that we get the job done, and I have everything crossed that we can pull it off.
