McDermid In Charge For City V Peterborough

The currently appointed referee for Coventry City's Championship game against Peterbrough is Danny McDermid from Hampshire.

The Civil Servant he started refereeing in 1991 in Northern Ireland before spending time in North Yorkshire. He joined the National List of assistant referees in 2002, and was promoted to the referees’ list in 2006.

He has had thirty matches this season including City's 0-0 draw at Swansea and has shown 104 yellow cards and four red. His last match was Carlisle's 2-1 home defeat by Oldham Athletic.

Mr McDermid has had three City games before - last season's  2-1 defeat at Middlesbrough and the 0-0 home draw with Swansea as well as 0-0 draw between City and Cardiff in Feb 2008. He was also in charge of a City Reserve game at Chelsea in 2006 which City lost 6-0.

He has had 12 matches so far this season and shown 35 yellows and 2 red.

His assistants are Andrew Hutchinson from Cheshire and Mark Jones from Nottinghamshire The Fourth Official is Ian Rathbone from Northamptonshire.
