The former City Chairman was taken ill on Friday and is undergoing tests after being transferred from the cardiac unit at Selly Oak hospital.
Geoffrey Robinson said: "The family is very strong. They're all very anxious but his wife Diane,is confident of a full recovery. "It was very scary and seems to be the after-effects of the past three and a half years."
