City Chairman Mike McGinnity wants to meet Tim Sherwood to see if the former England midfielder has found himself a new club.
McGinnity Wants Sherwood Chat
Sherwood, signed on a two year deal which made him the highest paid player in the club by Peter Reid, sparking much rumour and debate, was told he could find employment elsewhere by Micky Adams after making only eleven appearances. Problems caused by him breaking a leg whilst at Portsmouth flared up once more and Sherwood was sent home from the training ground to recuperate.
Mike McGinnity told the CET: "I will be talking to Tim and hoping to sort something out with him. "We need to know whether he has been successful in finding himself another club or whether he will be fit to come back and train with Coventry in the pre-season and be part of the squad.
"But it would certainly be helpful if we can bring the situation to a satisfactory conclusion. "If he is going to be in the first team squad that's fine. But if not, we have to discuss the situation further with him.
"I am sure the manager will be able to assess whether he is fit and whether or not his heart is with the club."
