It was a moment that the Coventry City supporters hoped for all night and in the 87th minute of the Sky Blues League One game at Colchester United, David McGoldrick became the first ever player to score in six consecutive away games.
McGoldrick had equalled Clarrie Bourton's record set back in the 1930's when he converted a penalty at Hartlepool United on Saturday.
The 3-1 win at Colchester meant that for the second time in the club's history, the Sky Blues had won their last game at a club's old ground (5-1 at Layer Road) and won on their first visit to that club's new ground.
The only other time that has happened was against Bolton Wanderers when City won 2-1 at Burnden Park and 5-1 at The Reebok Stadium
