Marc McNulty said it was great as he hit a hat-trick in a 4-0 win for Coventry City against Grimsby Town.
McNulty, who scored three times in the second half, said: “It was great, obviously three points first and foremost but then to get a hat-trick it’s a little bit extra special.
“It’s something you love to get, and they don’t come around that often so when you’re on two goals I had it in my head to go for the third and I got it and it was a good feeling.
“I caught it sweet (third goal), normally it would go in row z but thankfully it’s hit the back of the net.
“The goal that stands out for me is my first one, Big Jonno (Jonson Clarke-Harris).
“He didn’t have to square that for me, so all credit goes to him, I wouldn’t have got my hat trick if it wasn’t for him, so the plaudits need to go to him as well they shouldn’t all go to me.
“People like that make the team and make it better for myself an all-round so fair play to the big man.
“He has a lot of qualities and he is still young but he’s a big strong boy and he’s good with the ball at his feet and he works hard and he can finish so he just needed games and we’re starting to see the benefits of that now.”
