Coventry City beat MK Dons 2-0 in a pre-season fixture tonight.
Pre-season game number four for the Sky Blues and it was off to Nuneaton for a game against MK Dons.
Held again at Liberty Way, due to City not being allowed access to the Ricoh Arena during pre-season, and this match took place on a rainy evening.
City had started with Liam O'Brien in goal and had Chris Stokes in at left back in what looks to be Mark Robins starting back four when the season starts on August 5th in a game watched by a crowd of around nine hundred and 21 in the away end and former City player and manager Stephen Pressley, a mate of MK Dons manager Robbie Neilson.
The Sky Blues were ahead in the 14th minute when Devon Kelly-Evans got into the area and was hacked down for a penalty which Mark McNulty confidently dispatched.
Both sides had chances but City were close to going further ahead when a Grimmer cross was met by the diving Biamou, forcing Nicholls into a cracking save.
Things got heated with Agard getting narked and all the players piling in as City led at the break.
Darragh Leahy and Kwame Thomas came on at half-time for City in their home kit
In the 57th minute, Mark McNulty ran into the area and slipped over. Penalty said the referee and McNulty thumped home the spot kick that should never have been.
There was a delay in the pouring rain when Max Biamou limped off and was replaced by Jordan Ponticelli joining Ben Stevenson, Lee Burge and Stuart Beavon who had been introduced for the Sky Blues who were working well as a team.
Robins made the rest of his changes with fifteen minutes to go and the rain coming down even more.
They worked well and and should have had an 85th minute penalty when there was a blatant handball from a Shipley cross.
But, it was not too be and a good performance from City saw them 2-0 winners.
