James McPake has demanded to be let out of his contract with Livingston.
The 24 year old has signed a pre-contract deal with Coventry City and wants to join the Sky Blues this month.
Unfortunately, Livingston are in financial trouble with their players not being paid before Christmas by their Italian owners, who are now playing hardball with City about a fee for the rest of McPake's contract.
"I see no point in Livingston keeping me on because they have a player at the club who does not want to be there," said McPake to Scotland on Sunday.
If he is signed, it is believed City will then try to off-load Elliott Ward, who is amongst the biggest wage earners in the club.
