James McPake, who has signed a pre-contract deal with Coventry City could be going out on strike along with his Livingston team mates.
The threat of a strike and a refusal to play a home league match against Ross County on Saturday comes after Livingston players were again not paid on time.
An un-named player told the BBC that this was the fifth time in seven months with Livingston telling the players, they will be paid by Monday.
The Scottish First Division club is owned by Italians who pushed and pushed their asking price up for McPake to join City before his contract ends in June, to a level that City Chairman Ray Ranson deemed unacceptable.
