Former Coventry City forward/midfielder Gary McSheffrey has said that he is looking forward to the challenge after signing for Scunthorpe United for the rest of the season.
McSheffrey, whose short term contract at Chesterfield had ended, told Scunthorpe's club website:"I'm just excited and looking forward to the challenge.
"Obviously my trial went well. When you're a free agent you'd rather have a deal sewn up. The manager asked me to come and play a reserve game, they wanted to have a look at me."
McSheffrey added on the club's official website: "I'd like to get in the team as soon as I can and try to stay in the team.
"I'd like to contribute to what is hopefully a promotion-winning team."
