Former Coventry City player and manager Micky Adams is one of two candidates for the vacant managerial position at Port Vale.
Both have given their plans to Basildon based Harlequin Property who are Vale sponsors and prospective buyers of the League Two club this week and a decision is expected this week.
Micky Adams, who left Coventry City with bridges burnt and a £300K pay-off, was at Brighton & Hove Albion. However, he was dismissed with Brighton seemingly heading for relegation back in March and replaced by Russell Slade who kept Albion up.
John Ward has been manager of Cheltenham Town and Carlisle United.
