"It was nice to be back in midfield and I really enjoyed it," said Gunnarsson to the CT.
"I did a job at right-back against Forest but I was glad to be back in the middle where I thought me and Tabby showed great communication and played well.
"Jay said to me before the game to make sure that we both play well to ensure we stay in the team, and hopefully we did that.
"He makes runs and makes so much space for me and I was just able to put the ball wherever I wanted. "I had so much time on the ball, which is what I like - to sit, get the ball and relax.
"The performance was different class compared to the others in the last three or four games. "We were solid at the back and in the middle, and the lads did well up front as well.
"We have got our injury problems in the squad but we are getting on with it and doing the job.
"If someone needs to play at right-back we do it, and I thought Marcus Hall did a great job the other night.
"It is important to get points from the teams down near the bottom. We play well against the teams higher up the league and sometimes lose to the ones below us, but we showed against Charlton that we are a good team and that we can stick together and get a result."
