Coventry City striker Michael Mifsud scored five goals for Malta in a 7-1 mauling of Liechtenstein.

The City striker may be struggling to find the net for the Sky Blues, having only scored in the FA Cup against Blackburn in 2008, but he put his country ahead in the second minute with a second minute penalty and never looked backed.

Mifsud scored in the 17th and completed his hat-trick in the 21st minute when Liechtenstein went down to ten men after having Fabio D'Elia sent off and Mifsud scored from the penalty spot.

In the second half, Mifsud added two more. In the 59th minute, he beat Jehle from close range and ten minutes later, he collected a Nwoko pass and lashed the ball high into the net.

Richard Duffy was named on the bench for Wales international friendly in Luxembourg but came on for the second half replacing Neal Eardley. City target Freddie Eastwood scored twice for Wales in a 2-0 win.

A number of City supporters were in Paris to see David Beckham win his 100th cap for England in a friendly which England lost 1-0 to France.

Another City target David Healy scored at both ends in Northern Ireland's 4-1 against Georgia.
