Speaking to Sky Blue Player about the first trip to The New Den since August 2005, Boothroyd, whose Colchester side lost against Millwall home and away last season, said: "Millwall will be, without a doubt, our hardest one yet but if we can get something from this game it will have been a good solid start going into the international break.
"We have gotten through games with grit and determination so far which is an extremely important skill to have.
"It's going to take a while before we are playing fast, flowing football but that all comes from the training pitch and getting the players into the right way of thinking and we if we can do that while still picking up points then it will be very good for us."
