Coventry City will have a minute’s applause before Saturday’s game against Portsmouth for Bolton’s Fabrice Muamba.
The England U21 international, had a cardiac arrest during Bolton’s FA Cup tie at Tottenham on Saturday and was rushed to the London Chest Hospital.
Muamba is in a stable condition but has been able to receive visitors and has been able to speak a few words of English and French.
Speaking about his collapse on Saturday night which shocked the footballing world, City keeper Joe Murphy told the CT: “Sammy Clingan had Sky on his lap top and when it came out, it was strange and eerie on the coach – everyone was just quiet for the rest of the journey, just looking at each other.
“It doesn’t matter, what walk of life you are in, no-one likes to see that and it must have been horrible for the fans and players who were there.
“Things like that put life and football into perspective. We know he’s in a bad way but hopefully he’ll pull through and we’ll all be praying for him.”
