Coventry City boss Steven Pressley has been charge by the FA with misconduct following his comments prior to the Preston North End game in which he urged the referee Tim Robinson to keep an eye on striker Jo Garner. Pressley said prior to the game, "He likes to throw himself on the ground as well to get fouls. I hope the referee reads my comments because he does go down very easily.”
The FA have now charged Pressley of “failing to act in the best interests of the game and/or acting in a manner which was improper when making the comments.”
The City boss has until Monday to respond to the charges.
The club issued a brief statement saying, “Coventry City Football Club have been notified of the FA charge against manager Steven Pressley. He is currently taking advice from the League Managers’ Association and the club, nor Steven, will be able to make any further comment at this time.”
